Our Grant
At Edgar and Ivy’s, we work hard to bring immediate help to the most vulnerable cats and kittens in south Texas. These sweet babies are often very sick or injured. Many have been taken from their mothers before they can eat on their own and left at animal controls. In some cases, they have been abused, neglected, and thrown away like trash. Our area is extremely overpopulated with feral and community cats. These cats are reproducing year-round in our warm weather. Their kittens often end up in animal control facilities that must euthanize them. Others are left in dumpsters, in boxes on the side of the road or even worse…. killed in cruel and unimaginable ways. Edgar and Ivy’s has received a grant through the United Spay Alliance and the Community Cat’s Podcast. They will be matching donations sent to Edgar and Ivy’s for the spay and neuter of community cats. These cats are trapped, sterilized, vaccinated and ear tipped. After recovery we then return them back to their home neighborhoods. Stopping the breeding cycle of cats improves their lives and prevents reproduction and the ensuing suffering and deaths of unwanted kittens. Our new fundraiser is called “WE WORK FOR TIPS! Please consider donating to our fundraiser. Every dollar donated to the “WE WORK FOR TIPS” fundraiser will be doubled by the United Spay Alliance Community Cat Grant. You can also purchase a “WE WORK FOR TIPS” t-shirt to show your support of our mission. Together we can change the world…one cat at a time.
